There are inherent dangers to working at an industrial complex. Heavy machinery and powerful equipment, when not properly secured or supervised, can lead to a hazardous workplace. Sometimes this can lead to a minor injury; other times the incident is more serious. Unfortunately these accidents can also turn fatal, as was the case in Adamstown, Pennsylvania over the weekend when a serious accident resulted in the death of a 51-year-old employee.
The man was an experienced mechanic at the industrial company, serving 22 years until the accident claimed his life. As experienced as the man was, there are unexpected things that can happen on the job that permanently alters the life of an employee, a family or a community.
A piece of heavy machinery toppled onto the man on Saturday and he suffered major injuries that ultimately proved fatal. It was not immediately known if the machinery was secured properly within the industrial complex.
Serious industrial accidents like this highlight the effect on the parties involved and the need for proper legal representation to recover from such an incident. The safety of the company's workplace will be questioned because of this fatality and the man's family will be left to grieve as they try to recover both emotionally and financially. You should know your options and legal rights when a workplace accident, may it be minor or major, affects your life and wellbeing.
The company closed its office Thursday morning, allowing friends and co-workers to attend the funeral of the late 51-year-old.
